6 Year Old Limited Edition Single Malt Whiskey.
We all knew this day would come. Saying goodbye to the last of what was your first is always hard. Our Batch No. 4 is the final regular* limited edition whiskey from our Evergreen Collection.
The run of whiskey that helped launch Wanderback Whiskey Co. has been aging in American Oak barrels for over six years now. The result of that extended time in barrel is an incredibly smooth and layered American single malt whiskey.
We have decided not to use a finishing barrel for Batch No. 4. Why? Because nosing reveals that these casks have a unique story to tell on their own.
Blending trials are revealing a whiskey that rings with traditional flavors and notes more akin to whiskey produced and aged in the Highland region of Scotland as well as some flavors we would expect from the American bourbon whisky heartland.
On the nose we have notes of honeyed walnuts, salted toffee, cola and toasted dark cocoa. The palate is smooth and focused. Well integrated flavors consistent with the nose extend into a soft drawn out finish of fine toasted oak, salinity, and soft peppery spice.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this mature mature whiskey. We’ll be bottling this summer, right in time for the annual Wanderback Whiskey release party at the Farm in September.
