BATCH NO. 4
DOUBLE OAKED AMERICAN SINGLE MALT WHISKEY
Our latest release of Batch No. 4 is somewhat of an end to our first chapter as a company. As this is the last release in our Evergreen Collection, it is by that same process our oldest of the four releases. For die hard whiskey lovers, and fans of the Batch No. 1 release, this whiskey should be a welcome dram.
Journey At six years in age, Batch No. 4 spent three years in new American oak and then an additional three years in ex-bourbon barrels. The result of this extended “double-oaked” aging period is an American single malt that displays traits of something more classically produced in the Highlands of Scotland married with spicy attributes typically found in well aged American rye whiskey.
Nose Notes of honeyed walnuts, salted toffee, cola and toasted dark cocoa brush the nose. The palate is smooth and focused. Well-integrated flavors consistent with the nose extend into a soft, drawn out finish of fine-toasted oak, salinity and soft, peppery spice.
Palate At first sip, an elegant dissent into honeysuckle, almonds, vanilla and caramel sit round on the palate. The finish is long with hints of smoked chocolate and coffee bean. Full bodied with notes of toasted hazelnuts, vanilla and salted caramel.
